"...working as a Makeup artist in Las Vegas is the ultimate for me. In the 20 years we have lived and worked here, the city has become very cosmopolitan and fashionable. With all the photography, film and video work here now, and of course you can't forget the party and wedding makeup, I can't imagine working anywhere else. I love doing beauty, glamour and fashion makeups, and Las Vegas Weddings are famous the world over. I have found that doing wedding makeup and hair styling to very rewarding on so many levels. Making women look beautiful and exciting for their special day is what I enjoy doing. It makes me feel so good to know that when I finish they feel happy and proud of how they look... Working with non-models, from realtors, attorneys, doctors, nurses, to CEO's to "Soccer Moms' , doing glamour make-overs and boudoir sessions together with John, we work to make every client look like models and celebrities...."

Christiné (pronounced Kris-tee-nuh) Copeland

has lived in the US since 1987 after marrying American photographer John Copeland who she had met and worked with in Munich, Germany.

Christiné left the small village in Germany where she grew up and moved to Munich at age 17 to study cosmetology there.

After finishing her training she worked several years as an esthetician for a highly respected Cosmetic salon and worked in all the different areas of the beauty and skin care business. One of her clients, was a well known and respected make up artist and hairstylist from the German film industry. She had just opened a large photography studio that was fast becoming a hub for much of the fashion and commercial photo productions being done in Munich at that time. She offered Christine to come and be her assistant at the studio. There she assisted with makeup, handled much of the model grooming and assisted in the Christine doing makeupoperation, scheduling and customer service for clients such as the German Vogue, Bazaar, Marie Clare, and many others.

While working at the Munich studio she met John, who was shooting there.

At that time he worked shooting glamour, centerfolds, editorial and ads for the German edition of Penthouse magazine. Christiné had learned English in the school and seeing her natural talent and love for the work, John asked Christine to do some of the makeup and hair on his layouts when Frau Borsche was unavailable. She jumped at the opportunity and worked hard. She had picked up much already assisting Frau Borsche, but also took training classes under another famed German makeup artist Horst Kirchberger. When John started shooting for the German edition of Playboy he asked her to come and work for him full time. From that day on Christiné did all of his makeup including all his covers, feature layouts and centerfolds. She also helped with the styling, translating and working with the models.

When John decided to return to the U.S. they had been working together closely for almost two full years.

They had become more than co-workers and he asked her to marry and come to Los Angeles with him. She accepted and they headed back to L.A. They soon found themselves living in a 2400 sq. ft. photo studio / loft in the funkier part of South Hollywood. They hooked up with some agents who sent them models and singers, and lots of wanna be actors and began doing a lot of model portfolios, headshots, portraits and magazine layouts. Christiné got accepted with HMS Bookings agency for fashion and Photo of makeup productscommercial makeup work, and through them and other contacts worked with a wide Photo of Christine doing a very glamorous hairstylevariety of different photographers and production companies.

In 1992, the fires and looting from the L.A. riots came very close to their studio.

Then in 1994 the earthquake shook the studio so violently it damaged much of their belongings. They decided that it may be time to leave Los Angeles. A couple of friends suggested they check out Las Vegas. They did, and bought a home in the Southwest like they could never have afforded in L.A. They setup a studio just off the strip and have never for a moment regretted the move. They have only been back to L.A. on a few special occasions since. After taking off a few years while John tried his hand running Internet websites to see if being a housewife suited her, ("it was fun at first..." she said, " I do love to cook...but it got boring pretty fast") In 2003 Christiné came back more excited and invigorated about doing makeup than ever before. She is among the very top in her field in Las Vegas, and has shown the versatility by doing both makeup and hairstyling, skill and talent that keeps her working regularly in all genres. Photoshoots, film, TV/video, weddings and special events all keep her traveling through the city on her daily rounds, most every day, working to help keep Las Vegas one of America's most beautiful cities.
