ANSWERS TO ABOVE QUESTIONS

I want to model and need photos for my Portfolio. Do you do TFP or TFCD?

Yes we will occasionally do TFP or TFCD work. TFP - Time For Prints, or TFCD - Time for CD, is when you do a shoot, usually on a potential or working model and give photos (prints and/or CDs of images)to the subject at no charge, usually in exchange for a commercial release on the photos. If we do these types of shoots, we will shoot the model as she needs or wants to be shot as well as our own idea for the shoot. We want it to be a total win/win exchange of talent and skills for us and the model. If you are interested please Email us some photos to " tfp at lasvegasstudios.com " and we will get back to you.

[ Back to Questions ]

How soon can I get my photos?

You will be able to see some of the photos the day of the shoot, and view all photos usually within 2 - 3 days. On a full day shoot I will select the best 300 or so images and put them online in a secure and private, password protected directory on the LasVegasStudios.com website. Here the photos are in web resolution galleries, to be easily and quickly viewed on the Internet for the model to make her print selections.  The model then selects the images for her prints at her leisure.  Once she has them, she emails me the numbers and the sizes, and any correction or retouching she wants on all of them.

I look over the selected images...and give an estimate of any additional retouch time and what if any additional charges will be needed on each shot that is included in the session fee and for any additional print(s) that is ordered.  I also explain what different creative techniques could be used on the photos and methods to display the photos, including framing, mounting, bound leather albums, calendars, video slide shows, business cards, modeling zed cards, personal websites etc.  Once an image is retouched it can be put into any method of display or ordered in different sizes without any additional retouching charges.

Retouching turnaround is usually 3-5 day and the prints require another 3 -4 days.

Total turnaround from shoot to prints is usually around 14 days for the included session prints. Additionally ordered prints delivery time will depend on the size of the order.

Rushes can be put on all services at additional costs.

Can you make me look like Giselle Bundchen? (Britney Spears?, Carmen Electra?, Pamela Anderson?, Angelina Jolie?, Jennifer Lopez?, Adriana Lima?, Beyoncé?, Cameron Diaz? etc.?, etc.?)

Christiné is a great makeup artist and hair stylist, and a lot can be done photographically with the right lighting, best angles, and of course post-shoot in the retouching. However you have to still have realistic expectations. You will basically always have your own basic facial features, proportions, figure and ethnicity. We can certainly reduce or eliminate, lines, sags, scars, dark circles, bumps and lumps and lenghten, and enhance or shorten and diminish... we can even-out tan lines if need be and a whole lot more. We can do a lot in retouching but the finished photo will be of you! So no matter how much we copy a look or style it will be you -- but given the same advantages, tricks, and professional techniques normally only the celebrities receive.

[ Back to Questions ]

How do I reserve a photo session?

First, contact us by Email and give us an idea of what you look like, what you want to do and when you would like to do it. We will ask you to send us a couple of photos so we have an idea of what you look like. If we feel we can provide you with the photos you want, we will ask you to download and complete our agreement to book a session.

We require a initial consultation by phone or in person and a 50% deposit and a contract to book a shoot.

We accept most all payment types from US clients, and credit card and paypal from International clients coming to Las Vegas. Once we have your consultation fee or deposit we will setup a consultation. If you are not in Las Vegas, this can be done by phone. We must have a couple of photos of you and links to photos of the styles you want to do. Before we meet we will give you some links to some websites that have thousands of great photo ideas from most every celebrity of today and from the past.  We ask that you go through that site and any other site you might like and email ahead of time or bring to the consultation at least a half dozen shots of the types that you will want to do.  It is important that you bring samples of shots that we can use as a guide for planning your shoot. We only do custom shoots.  Everyone gets shot as they want to be... custom makeup and hair styles, custom lighting techniques, custom photographic styles.  To assure we give you what you want, we need to know as closely as possible what that is.

[ Back to Questions ]

Do you charge for a consultation?

We do a Consultation only after a deposit has been paid. We will discuss and plan your shoot based on what you want. Pre-production time and post-production time are a large part of the session. We are only interested in working with people who are serious about getting great photos done. A deposit ensures that you are serious.

[ Back to Questions ]

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept AMEX, Visa, Discover and Mastercard, Paypal, locally drawn personal checks or cash.

[ Back to Questions ]

If for some reason I change my mind or reschedule can I get a refund?

Rescheduling or refunds are covered under your booking agreement. There are restrictions based upon how soon before the appointment date that a cancellation or reschedule occurs.

[ Back to Questions ]

What time do you normally start your sessions?

The day of the shoot, we usually will have the model arrive at 10:00 am.  Punctuality is expected and appreciated.   We lay out all the clothes and wardrobe, look it over and usually have the model try on a thing or two to check the fit etc.  From there our model is off to makeup for 1 1/2 hours or so where Christiné performs her "magic".

[ Back to Questions ]

Can I bring a escort to my photo session?

We have found that we get the best results and are the most productive, when we work together with our models without outside distractions. It is much less intimidating for a novice model to be in front of the camera with a limited number of people watching. Often having a relative or close friend on the set makes a model more self-conscious. A model should be uninhibited and should not feel intimidated by the photography process. We like to shoot in a casual, fun environment...and work with the model as a team. When we are shooting we prefer to not have boyfriends, husbands, girl friends, etc. on the set unless we are shooting them too. (at a small additional charge)

If there is a agent or manager involved we want to work from them from the beginning, and will normally only do a Commercial, "Work for Hire" rate in such cases.

[ Back to Questions ]

Can you explain "Work for Hire" to me?

"Work for Hire" is when the client needs or wants to have complete ownership of the copyright to the images for commercial use. Unless there is a "Work for Hire" arrangement , under US Copyright Law, the ownership and copyright, and therefore all publication and reproduction rights to a photograph, belongs to the creator of the work(photographer) and not the subject. You must have a Work for Hire release on your photos for any commercial use. In the case of Work for Hire, we usually provide the client with DVD data discs of the final images in uncompressed tiff format within 48 hours.  The client is then free to do with the photos as they please. They can make all their own prints and reproduce or do with the photos as they please. We reserve the right to use a few photos (without any nudity if such exists, and with the approval of the client) from the shoot, for our portfolios and in our advertising and marketing.  This right can be excluded at an additional fee of 25% - 35% of the standard Work for Hire fees.  LasVegasStudios is not responsible for final results of images that it does not do the final imaging and retouching on.

[ Back to Questions ]

If you own the copyright can you sell my photos?

No. It takes more than owning the copyright to sell or reproduce photos. You must also have a model release from the subject of the photo. We cannot sell or publish any of your photos without your written permission in the form of a "model release". Normally we do retain the right to use a few photos (without any nudity, if such exists, and with the approval of the client) for our business portfolios, promotion and marketing use. We do sometimes do a shared copyright with the subject of our photos. In exchange for a release we give the subject commercial reproduction rights to their photos along with full high resolution, for print versions of their images. We also do on some occasions purchase model releases from the models we photograph, which then allows us to sell their images for commercial or editorial use.

[ Back to Questions ]

Do you supply wardrobe and props for the shoots?

Generally we expect the model to supply her wardrobe and any special props she may want. We have some wardrobe and accessories however it is best for the model to bring the items she wants to be photographed in. We can suggest several great websites that have great outfits for sexy shoots at very reasonable prices.

[ Back to Questions ]

Do you work with hairpieces or extensions?

Yes and Christiné usually carries a large number of real hair appliances that she often uses for commercial and fashion work. At the end of the shoot she can wash them and use them again on another shoot in the future. She usually has some of a color that can work on most models, however because of the expense and the importance of the proper hair color she could never stock the variety of hair pieces that she would need to cover every model. If you bring your own she can certainly integrate them into your hairstyle.

[ Back to Questions ]

What do you charge to build a model website?

That is like asking how much does a car cost. The price can range from a couple of hundred dollars to a few thousand or more

I can do a very simple attractive one page website with a few photos, a paragraph of information and a email link, including one years hosting for under $200.

A full-on, custom designed, search engine optimized, website with a 4 page tour or preview area, custom message board, custom blog, contact forms, wish lists, store, and easy to update member's area that can accept all forms of payments and has photo galleries, video galleries, etc. etc. will run into the thousands.

[ Back to Questions ]

Can you shoot me for content for my adult website?

Certainly. I shot centerfold models for many years. We are open minded and non judgemental. Commercial use requires a Work for Hire, Shared Copyright or other type of special arrangement and written agreement..

[ Back to Questions ]

Is it ok to come with my normal makeup on, and what about my hair?

Please come to the shoot without makeup. Removing old makeup is time consuming. A clean, well moisturized skin will take the makeup the best. On the other hand, in the case of hair, Christiné prefers working on "day old hair". Hair that contains a bit of leftover products styles much better than fresh washed hair. Do not use a hair straightening implement on your hair anytime between you last hair washing and your appointment date. Straightening hair makes it difficult to do anything else with it.

[ Back to Questions ]

Can I do my own makeup, or use my own makeup artist?

Yes, if you are hiring me on a "Work for Hire" basis.

[ Back to Questions ]

Is retouching really necessary? Can I do my own retouching?

There is a reason why celebrities want their photos retouched. High quality still photography does not miss a thing. Still photos, unlike moving images like in film or video are there to look at -- over, and over, and over. The slightest imperfection, not normally noticed in real life, stares back at you every time you view the photos. We always try to maintain the integrity of our subject in our retouching, and will keep it as realistic as possible. We do not want others retouching our photos on which we are the copyright owners. We only allow outside retouching on "Work for Hire".

[ Back to Questions ]

We will have a great suite at a major hotel, can we shoot there?

Shooting at hotels is usually not a problem and gives some great backdrops. We can make great photos in standard studio type location with a wide variety of photo backgrounds.  In spring and summer we have outdoor settings available and basic furnishings that can be used to create a variety of settings.  We are however, in Las Vegas and if you are looking for a rich interior location to make your photos very special you can always book a Suite at one of the hotels.  We can recommend the best hotels to shoot in for the styles of photos you like.  We do charge extra for location shoots as we need an assistant, for the equipment, setup and travel times, parking and gratuities for the hotel staff.  Location shoots are normally $200 - 300 extra.

[ Back to Questions ]

What brands and types of products does Christiné use?

Christiné uses all the best products, laura mercier, nars, faceatelier, vincent longo, mac, shiseido, make up for ever, shu uemura, avanya etc. She is a fanatic on cleanliness, and never "double dips" into products.
